Short answer: Keep Arabic and English content readable in its natural direction, make the language choice obvious, and use a clear route to the right localized page. Correct language and direction improve presentation and accessibility; they do not guarantee search rankings.

Set direction for the language on the page

Arabic text normally reads right to left, while English reads left to right. W3C recommends declaring the document’s primary language and direction in HTML—for example, `lang="ar"` with `dir="rtl"` for an Arabic page—and marking passages that use another language when needed. Language and direction are separate properties: a language tag alone does not set text direction.

Mixed strings need special attention. An Arabic name beside an English brand, phone number, email address or URL can display punctuation in an unexpected order if direction is not handled deliberately. W3C describes direction metadata and isolation approaches for bidirectional text; test real names, numbers and links rather than assuming the layout will always look correct.

Publish real localized versions

If you have separate English and Arabic pages, give each a stable URL and let readers switch language with an ordinary link. Google recommends clear language-specific pages and says it uses visible content to determine page language; it does not rely on `lang` or the URL alone to detect language.

For localized page equivalents, Google supports `hreflang` annotations in page markup, HTTP headers or sitemaps. Each version should identify itself and its alternate versions. Google says this helps it understand localized variants and serve an appropriate page; it is not a ranking guarantee. Do not put both full translations side by side on one page and expect that to replace properly structured localized URLs.

For a professional profile, translate the action as well as the biography. “Book an appointment,” “Request a quote” and “Leave a review” should remain specific and natural in each language. Test the direction, button labels, telephone number and links on mobile. Tapytap’s public site confirms digital profiles, NFC/QR sharing and actions such as leads, bookings and reviews, but the pages reviewed do not verify a particular profile language-switcher or RTL setting.

FAQs

Google says it does not use the HTML `lang` attribute to detect a page’s language. Use it for correct document semantics and accessibility, not as a ranking promise.
